Salvador Ibanez (1854–1920) was a very famous Spanish luthier, located in Valencia. He manufactured all kinds of stringed instruments, but was particularly known for his classical format guitars like the one here presented for sale. He began his apprenticeship at the age of eleven in 1865 and founded his business in 1870, which continued until his death in 1920, then was managed by his two sons until it was sold in 1933 to Telesforo Julva. These instruments were considered the best of their time and are still highly prized today for their build quality and excellent sound quality.
